Recombinant Human Serum Albumin

CAT.NO UNIT
TM038 100 µg
Description Human serum albumin (HSA) is the serum albumin found in human blood, constituting about half of serum protein. Albumin transports hormones, fatty acids and other compounds, buffers pH, and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume among other functions. Thus, it is ideal as a carrier protein to be added into cytokine solutions to increase the stability and shelf-life of the protein, to replace the use of animal originated bovine serum albumin which quite frequently increases the endotoxin level of the resulting solution. As a cell culture media supplement, it can promote cell growth and increase recombinant protein production. Recombinant Human Serum Albumin expressed in human 293 cells is a glycosylated monomer with a molecular mass of 60 to 65 kDa.
