Micro Transponder with Lancet for Direct Implantation

Micro-sized, implantable, wireless identification transponder tags are the only way to uniquely identify an animal. Identify any animal in any group with a simple hand-held reader. Transfer the reader data to a database on a computer to track studies with animals. Kent Scientific transponder systems are suitable for weanling (21-24 days) and adult animals.

About the System

The passive RFID transponder system is based on cutting-edge research and development. It provides a number of unique performance features which are protected by nine awarded patents, with additional patents pending. These features optimize achievable read distances while minimizing transponder dimensions, providing exceptional read rates (reading speed) and unmatched system dependability.

Sophisticated automatic test methods implemented by the manufacturer ensure that no code is duplicated.

RFID transponders can be read irrespective of their orientation to the reader.

FAQs

Can the implanted transponders be re-used?
Yes. However, the transponders are encapsulated in glass and if damaged, fluid may leak into the transponder through small holes or cracks that may occur during removal and re-implantation. Any fluid in the transponder will cause the unit to malfunction.

If you are going to re-use a transponder, it should be cleaned with medical grade alcohol prior to re-implantation.

Do RFID microchips meet International standards?
Yes.

How do I clean my transponder?
We recommend cleaning the transponder with medical grade alcohol, and sterilizing using a chemical sterilant. Alide, Zephiran, and Cidex are some examples of common choices to sterilize the transponders.
