| Description | Derived from chicken embryonic fibroblasts after lentiviral transduction with human stem cell genes; the Chicken iPSC line was developed as a serum-free; suspension cell line for use as an alternative to egg-based methods in viral vaccine research. Eliminating the need for trypsinization and anchorage support; suspension cells are preferable for vaccine production. In addition to decreasing overall production cost; serum-free cell expansion eliminates a potential source for viral or prion contamination; an important consideration for work in vaccine production. |
